Thanks Steve - that's an excellent solution; I just got my Playbook and was disappointed that AVI's worked without sound - but using AVIDEMUX was pretty straightforward and the amended files play perfectly. It takes a little longer than yours; but full movies in about 25 mins. It does make the files bigger though - not sure why as the extra sound file isn't anything like the extra size!

Thanks!

I understand your frustration, I used my playbook for the gym and needed to find a workaround, hopefully Rim will bring out an app or update to fix it. Until then we can only get by.

I dont really want to download anything, the playbook should have sound even if there's a way to get around it. Youtube videos dont even work because on the screen it shows a fence and an exclamation mark. They should fix that because only one video on vevo app has worked for me for almost one month.

Hi Mark,

The screen has cracked internally which has caused the internal liquid to leak. I'm afraid there is no way to do this without pressure been applied to your screen. It could be down to a poor design and with shutting the lid a bit too hard it could have caused the damage. My advice is to take a different approach and say that you closed the lid and the screen cracked (assuming there are no visible marks that would show that it could have been dropped). I wouldn't accept no for an answer, by explaining that you know how its happened it doesn't look like you are trying to cover up damage you may have caused. I would also recommend you going to another pc world to do this. Go in angry and frustrated and you should get it exchanged or refunded. Keep saying you've had to travel far and this is an obvious design fault. Hope you manage to sort this out, do let us know how you get on. We do replace screens at our shop but you shouldn't give up on this one.

I would always recommend this company to those who want fantastic customer service as well as affordable prices. I have been using PC Express for the past few years for both me and my family. Every time we have had any problems with our laptops, consoles etc they have been able to fix them within in 48 hours...Rob & Steve are both friendly and very informative on any issues/problems. 5 stars! :)
